Atarxi ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Atarxi mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information when you use our App. By using Atarxi, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Atarxi is not a healthcare provider, medical device, or therapy service. It is a general wellness and self-improvement coaching tool. No information collected by Atarxi constitutes a medical record or protected health information (PHI) under HIPAA, as we do not provide healthcare services or operate as a covered entity.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive:

• Email address
• Display name
• Authentication tokens (we do not receive or store your Google or Apple password)

1.2 Onboarding Information

During onboarding, you voluntarily provide:

• First name
• Age
• Gender
• Areas of interest (e.g., focus, mood, thought patterns)

1.3 Voice and Conversation Data

When you use Atarxi's voice features:

• Voice audio is streamed in real-time for speech-to-text conversion. We do not store raw audio recordings. Audio is processed ephemerally and discarded after transcription.
• Text transcriptions of your conversations are stored to provide session history, insights, and continuity between sessions.
• AI-generated responses from your sessions are stored alongside your messages.

1.4 Automatically Derived Data

Our AI systems automatically extract the following from your conversation text (not from audio analysis):

• General mood indicators
• Session topics and themes
• Self-reported energy and focus levels
• Session duration and frequency

This data is used solely to provide personalized insights within the App and is never shared with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes.

1.5 Technical Data

• Device type, operating system version
• App version
• Crash reports and performance logs (anonymized)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively for:

• Providing and personalizing the App's coaching features
• Generating session summaries and personal insights
• Maintaining session continuity (remembering context between conversations)
• Improving App performance and fixing bugs
• Enforcing our Terms of Service
• Complying with legal obligations

We do not:

• Sell your personal data to anyone
• Use your data for advertising or ad targeting
• Use your conversation content to train AI models
• Share your data with data brokers

3. Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate the App. These providers process your data only as necessary to deliver their services on our behalf.

• All providers are required to maintain appropriate security standards.
• No provider is permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
• Your data is not used to train any third-party AI models.

4. Data Security

• Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your device, our servers, and third-party services is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher.
• Encryption at rest: Stored data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption.
• Authentication: Access tokens are stored securely on your device and expire automatically.
• Access control: Only essential personnel have access to production systems, using role-based access controls.

No system is 100% secure. While we implement industry-standard protections, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• Account data: Retained while your account is active.
• Conversation transcriptions: Retained while your account is active to provide session history and insights.
• Voice audio: Not retained. Processed ephemerally in real-time and not stored.

Deleting your data: You may request complete deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@atarxi.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Upon account deletion, we will also instruct our third-party processors to delete any data associated with your account, to the extent technically feasible.

6. Crisis Detection and Safety

Atarxi includes automated crisis detection. If our system detects language indicating you may be in immediate danger of harming yourself or others, the App will:

• Immediately provide crisis resource information (e.g., 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, emergency services)
• Log the crisis event internally to ensure appropriate follow-up safeguards

Atarxi does not contact emergency services on your behalf. Atarxi is not a crisis service and is not monitored by humans in real-time. If you are in immediate danger, call 988 (US), 112 (EU), or your local emergency number.

7. Children's Privacy

Atarxi is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you are under 18, do not use this App. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will promptly delete that information and terminate the associated account.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Delete your personal data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of data processing for specific purposes
• Withdraw consent at any time

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

European Economic Area Residents (GDPR)

Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent (provided at account creation) and our legitimate interest in providing and improving the App. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms required by applicable law.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice within the App or sending you an email. Your continued use of Atarxi after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
